So Many Days 00:47
Someday I'll be one with the roots in the trees So many days So many days So many days will melt the poltergeist clinging on to me

oh yeah lol 03:12
You rolled up late to the coffee place keeping mercurial paces A reddish flag but just to be safe I should better embrace it I know we met just only recently But could you tell me just how I'm doing so far I really hope I'm doing I'm decently But your one word texts aren't saying much Oh yeah lol Oh yeah lol Should we go on or our separate ways Is it really worth saving It's such a loss I'd rather not face Can we cover the bases? You know, I don't come around easily But for heaven's sake please no more mistakes I've never dumbed it down so peacefully It's like oh my god I love all your songs Oh yeah lol Oh yeah lol Who really cares if what I say is true How would you know I wasn't lying if I said that I liked you It would be nice if you would be so clear My only hope's that I could imitate you my dear And be so clear I shed a tear For you my dear Oh yeah lol Oh yeah lol

Jolly Peppy! 04:12
Honestly it must be hard to walk by carefully I love the way you didn't notice me Moving across the empty walkway Tell me dear are you the type who wants a good career Are you the kind whose thoughts never cohere Is this just something that I'm saying Where have you gone I have moved on hun Well by the way you was dancing I could tell who you were Your little diamond crested necklace tells me fashion's a must And it's a great day to go yachting if there's time allotting Maybe we can meet up soon and talk over brunch Do you really think that there's more than consciousness If your wallet's law defying You're considered terrifying Honestly you gotta take some notes on subtlety When you say I gotta work on honesty Why do you make the truth so boring New money is that how we call our follow bourgeoisie Is that the best you have have to insult to me Is this just something that you're saying Where have you gone I have moved on hun Well by the way you was dancing I could tell who you were Your little diamond crested necklace tells me fashion's a must And it's a great day to go yachting if there's time allotting Maybe we can meet up soon and talk over brunch Do you really think that there's more than consciousness and certain trivia Do you think there's anything at all Do you really think that there's more than consciousness Do you think there's anything at all Do you really think that there's more than consciousness and certain trivia Do you think there's anything at all

Hey Lionfae 03:58
I live in apartment number 82013 The sound of people passing by keeps me company I know it's so grating living in this kinda heat But what more can I ask if no one's asking for me Lemme tell ya now Hey lionfae Well I really wanna get want to know you I don't have a whole lot to show you Hey lionfae It was really really nice to meet ya But I gotta run so I'll see ya I socialize daily though I must apologize For feeling so half stupid while I search for my line Lemme tell ya now Hey lionfae Well I really wanna get want to know you I don't have a whole lot to show you Hey lionfae It was really really nice to meet ya But I gotta run so I'll see ya Hey lionfae Well I really wanna get want to know you I don't have a whole lot to show you Hey lionfae It was really really nice to meet ya But I gotta run so I'll see ya So signed sincerely dotting hearts up on the eyes I'm telling you goodbye for now Cause it's so beneath me to associate with you So leave my field of view But have a merry Christmas I know you'll miss us Me too Hey lionfae Well I really wanna get want to know you I don't have a whole lot to show you Hey lionfae It was really really nice to meet ya But I gotta run so I'll see ya Hey lionfae Well I really wanna get want to know you I don't have a whole lot to show you Hey lionfae It was really really nice to meet ya But I gotta run so I'll see ya

Overrated plan Don't think about the details of the deal and you're a real man It just goes around the world to show us that we would have had it worse than waving terse hands But they tell you it's alright to glance the terms of service have a great time in the late night And it's even better still to run around the circus for one more thrill don't drop your quill Cause every other thing you think that is too difficult to tell And all the words you've never heard are just impossible to yell But even on the thoughts you often find the pencil to misspell They will never ever be more than a pair of parallels Irritated man Who tells me that I'm working not as fast as he knows I can He just took a different path one I won't be a part of it's up for grabs in a green cab Please don't tell me if it's true that I'm an ugly sentence in your book and leave me shook man It's so easy to deny and easier to lie now that I don't care what's within there Cause every other thing you think that is too difficult to tell And all the words you've never heard are just impossible to yell But even on the thoughts you often find the pencil to misspell They will never ever be more than a pair of parallels

Fools 03:43
I know the timing isn't right You get distracted when you're high I'm feeling so over delight right now But let's figure this one out at night Cause we're too collected in daylight You swear to me this is time but I'd rather sit this out They're the fools of Friday night They're out running traffic lights To me it seems you're in a rut You're already making your mind up Wandering how you think somebody much older than you must How can you think the time is right When you hardly know to stay alive She doesn't like you when you're high like now They're the fools of Friday night They're out running traffic lights In a sense I am missing the fresher times Innocence and the wonder in my eyes Isn't it kinda boring but lovely Isn't it kinda boring but lovely Isn't it kinda boring but lovely These days I'm rolling with a crowd Can't tell if I'm lost or I'm found I wonder if this is just what we will reminisce about Just hold my hand and hold it tight Under a moonlit cloudy night I know I'm being so nearsighted now And I will never make fun of you again Never make fun of you Never make fun of you again Never make fun of you

Memorytier 04:43
Out of this place out of my mind Feeling like it's 1969 Somewhere upstate and taking flight Head in the clouds finally now I want you to give anything that you can And then I wake up head in my hands I can be so divine Only all night long Hide behind a disguise Only all night long What was the case time and the place I swear that there was something happening here Mourning the faint memory tear I was a fool thinking it true You would never want to be with me I find it hard to see what you see I can be so divine Only all night long Hide behind a disguise Only all night long I can be so divine Only all night long Hide behind a disguise Only all night long These are just words and broken sounds Unfettered verbs and wild nouns Either I'm strange or hold it down When all I want's to be around To be around To be around To be around To show We're trying now We're trying now We're trying now I'm asleep but dreaming of the day that I can wake up and know just what to say to you I'm asleep but dreaming of the day that I can wake up and know just how to say to you I'm asleep and dreaming of the day that I can wake up and know just what to say to you I'm asleep and dreaming of the day that I can wake up and know just how to say to you I can be so divine Only all night long Hide behind a disguise Only all night long I can be so divine Only all night long Hide behind a disguise Only all night long

No one told me why the time goes slowly when we play pretend And no one told me that the good old times would ever have to end In the chat I saw a photograph of when it wasn't hard to laugh You and I went were rather ride or die when the earth was new Your baby brother said your dad and mother worry about you How much longer are they gonna wait Are you coming home It's getting late Blow the candlelight Out when the moon is just as bright And take a look outside If you're ever feeling not alright Poison sentiments had never made much sense till I lost you So if ever said a word that hurt you know it's all untrue It's how I roll with everyone I love I know I've been so dumb Blow the candlelight Out when the moon is just as bright And take a look outside If you're ever feeling not alright I've never seen such pretty sight Look at the illuminated night Blow the candlelight Out when the moon is just as bright And take a look outside If you're ever feeling not alright I've never seen such pretty sight Look at the illuminated night I've never seen such pretty sight Look at the illuminated night Yeah

about

With the exception of So Many Days, I'll See You Then consists of rerecordings of songs that I wrote in October 2017 during my last semester at UTSA. I didn't have any instruments with me in my dorm, so they were all originally composed on Musescore, and then recorded whenever I came back home. And the songs then were in very different forms compared to here. Real noisy lofi type stuff, big lowpasses on the vocals, Izotope Vinyl on the master, and 808 drums run through a guitar amp. Maybe I'll drop those one day. Only like two of those were actually finished back then. Anyway, I had these songs on the backburner for a long time. Like, these were before even Tomato Soup Blueberry (or really, kinda around the same time). I thought there was something there, but I felt like the moment to work on those old recordings had passed, and I did Tomato Soup Blueberry instead. Y'all know the rest from here.

But eventually and very impulsively, one day I was like "hey, what if i finished that album?". In August of this year, I had the house to myself for about a week, and I set out to record the bulk of the album, at the time still under the working title "Dumb Year". Turns out this music making stuff is a lot easier when the song are already mostly written. So I knocked out all the jarana, drums, bass, and vocals in that week. The idea for So Many Days came to me in the shower that week. Then the guitars, horns, organs, bleeps and bloops were added in the following months. That part was really fun, I mostly used it as an opportunity to use all the new gear I'd gotten since The Palms.

Which brings us to the modern day, 12/21/2023. I'll see you then at Autumn's end. Here is sorta the third Erick Mendoza album, but also kinda the first? I like to think of it as written and composed by 2017 me and then finished, produced, and arranged by 2023 me. Either way, it's been a long time coming, I'm glad it's out and I hope you like it.
